Place is a little creek across the water from St. Mawes. You can see it from the house. Great for a walk around to St Anthony’s head and other places. The ferry only runs in the summer. Click here for details. Their web page is a bit out of date but essentially they run regularly from the harbour and it’s only 10 minutes across. |

Treat yourself to a meal at the Ganges Restaurant or Castaways Oyster Bar or have a full English breakfast with an unrivalled sea view at the Mylor Harbour Café. And if you want to get out on the water, even a lack of expertise is no excuse - they have sailing schools, boat hire, skippered charter and a welcoming yacht club to call on for tuition or advice. Parking St Mawes is a lovely quiet village with very little traffic, mainly because you don't pass through St Mawes to go anywhere else. In the winter you can park on single yellow lines more or less outside the house along the front. In the summer everybody has to park in the main car park (400yds) a weeks ticket is about £13. You can also park on the harbour which is nearer but costs a bit more. You can of course unload at an time and park outside the house overnight even in summer. Consequently the village isn't clogged up with cars all year round, which is great when you compare it to similar villages (no names) in Cornwall. |
